Commander's Brew Episode 262 - Grixis Noncombat Damage

Hot take: Creatures were meant to do damage! If you look at recently printed cards, specifically creatures that have some sort of triggered effect whenever they do damage, the templating has been very specific to mention "combat damage". But if you go back far enough, they weren't designing cards while thinking of all the different ways you could get a creature to do damage outside of combat. That's what we're focusing on in this deck.

There are lots of different creatures that have fun and interesting effects when they do damage. Period. Inside or outside of combat. We're planning on suiting them up with equipment or spells to let them deal damage, and we're going to reap the rewards. Of course, good old-fashioned combat damage is still a possibility, and quite frankly, it's the simplest route to damaging an opponent. We've got some cards to help us out with that too. In the end, this deck is a cross between a pinger deck and an unblockable deck. With a few surprising twists!
Bonus: see if you can identify the small handful of creatures from the modern era that went back to triggering on any damage dealt, not just combat damage!
